So where do you start? Here you will find more information about the process and the legal documentation for weddings.
Step 1: Call or email me for a chat about your ceremony and to check my availability for your special day.
Step 2: We’ll meet for a no obligation free chat at my home office or a chosen venue near you. Over coffee well discuss your wedding plans and ideas and a little more of what I offer. This is a great time for us to get to know each other and see if I’m the ‘right’ celebrant for you.
Step 3: Should you wish to book me as your celebrant, we arrange to meet at my home office or chosen venue to complete the legal paperwork, start preparations for your ceremony and pay a booking fee.
Legal Certificates required to start the process
- A Notice of Intended Marriage Form (or NOIM Form)
- An original Birth Certificate from country of birth
- An Australian or Overseas passport
- Divorce Certificate if previously, married.
- Death Certificate if previous spouse deceased.
Step 4: You then go home with a ceremony resource pack containing an extensive selection of vows poems and readings to choose from as well as ceremony samples for weddings.
Once your choices have been made from the resource pack I have given you, you then email me the information back within the agreed time frame.
Step 5: Based on the information you’ve provided to me, I’ll draft your first ceremony and send it through for your review. You’ll have unlimited email and phone access to me, as well as the option of another meeting, so we can get your ceremony absolutely perfect.
Step 6: If you would like a rehearsal before your ceremony, we’ll meet approximately 1- 2 weeks before your wedding date… I encourage all ceremony participants to be at this rehearsal so they know exactly what they’re meant to be doing on the big day, plus it’s a great time for everyone to get together in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
This will also be the time where we will complete and sign the ‘No Legal Impediment Form’ to getting married.
Step 7: You wedding day has finally arrived and this is the day you get to be the stars so have fun enjoy and relax!
Step 8: After the Ceremony, I will them lodge all your paperwork to Births Deaths and Marriages for registration of your marriage.
Elke was the best wedding celebrant! She was very warm, friendly and made us feel totally relaxed on the day. Our ceremony was exactly what we wanted and it was perfect! I would recommend Elke to anyone wishing to get married.
